For those of you that are getting the message about having an illegal copy of Windows, look and see if this updated is listed in Add Remove Programs.

You will have to check the box at the top that says "Show Updates"

Yea i had that problem this week. But I had to put on a fresh install of XP anyways and just avoided redownloading that update. I hate it when microsoft is lance bass.

Well, i guess the update doesn't show up. Everyone needs to make sure they have their automatic updates set up to not automatically install so that you can select what to install. Make sure you do not install the Microsoft authenticity tool thing.

ok basically wt you have to do is that update shows up... u can click on it and it will take you to microsofts site where you can tell it to quit giving you the messages and it stops and acts normal again...

yes but when you do that you will not get anymore updates for your computer...thats what sucks about turning off the pop-ups saying that you dont have a real copy of xp and no you cant uninstall it
