Tried it... and it didn't look like it had any scratches.

your disc is reading right. There could be something wrong with your rom drive. Have you tried using a diffrent drive or do you just have one drive.

I have scene this quite a few times. im not sure what it is but i know like 4 things to do.

1. Reinsert the DVD and try agien
2. Use a different drive
3. Use dvd decrypter
4. Use your modded Xbox and burn it(lol for the few of us with one)
5. Use alcohol 120
6. Reinstall your drivers for your drive and restart.
7. You a defferent computer lol

IDK i think it has something to do with the protection type that has the scratchs put in it like in the code, idk but i know a few game type protections us it as well.

i have had some that you know i just took it out put it back in and tried it agien, y others i just droped in my burner and it worked.

dvd decrypter works but when u cross back to shrink to burn it may hit the error agien.

alcohol read threw the disc read and normaly normal will always work, when that didnt on Goodfellas* i reinstalled the drivers for the roms and it worked in shrink.

if none of the above work give it to me and i dam sure will find a way. oh and try to install dvdXcopy and it should be able to do it.

ive found that some discs just wont copy using shrink, ive had a brand new out of the package movie not copy, usually tho, this problem is caused by a dirty or scratched disc. Try a different program, i used DVD decrypter for several. Then burn in nero.

Alright well we've got it fixed to an extent. Now I'm using the decrypter. However with that I can't compress anything. So with decrypter do you have to rip it to the drive as the vob files or can it be in iso format to compress with shrink?
