Free Anti-Virus

Post by The Last Mohican »

Im in need of one badly. That AVG thing is being an ahole and I havent been able to locate a serial number ot use it. I've got some damn bug that resets my homepage to some website that is petitioning to reopen the 9/11 investigations (www.letsroll911.org i think) and its annoying the hell outta me. Any other options besides AVG that are any good?

Sounds more like spyware than a virus. Have you run ad aware, spybot, ans cw shreader?

Also, AVG is one of the best free anti-virus software out there. You just need to register, and they will e-mail you a reg code. It's 100% free!

Also, you can use Trend Micro's free stand alone scanner to remove a virus. You can get it here.

And you will also have to download the definition file to go with it. Just download the zip, extract it, and place it in the same folder as the sysclean.com.

Yea I run Spy Bot and ad aware everytime after I use the internet and the damn thing still comes up with that page. I will register AVG tonight and hopefully get it up and running. Thanks for the help.

Here is a tip. Try running ad aware and spybot in safe mode. Also, it sounds like you need to run the immunize feature in Spybot and also download spyware blaster so that you don't keep getting infected with spyware.
